Using the TV guide (one between 2) teacher asks questions to familiarise students with using a TV guide:
E.g How many channels are there?
What time are the earliest programs in the morning?
Find The Simpsons. When does it start?
When does it end?

Extension: Work with elapsed time. E.g. How long does the show run?

Activity

Working individually or with a partner, students will become in charge of a new TV station. They can select a range of programs for an afternoon or evening timeslot of 4 hours. They use the TV guide to select programs.

Select children to share their TV guides.
