Introduce and draw the different types of angles: right, acute, obtuse and straight angles. Students can draw and label these in their books. Look for these angles in the classroom.
Students make angle arms with two strips of paper and a paper fastener (split pins). Students use these angle arms to investigate the angles in the room. Students list five different objects and their respective angles. (E.g. fan blades = obtuse angle).
Challenge students to find at least one object for each type of angle.
Extension: Look at the upper case letters of the alphabet and identify the angles in each letter. (Eg. M= 3 acute angles.)
