This website teaches place value up to the 100s. The penguin gives you a number and students need to break the number up into hundreds, tens and units by placing the penguins in the correct position.

Select a story and choose from a list of activities based on that fairytale including: hearing/reading the story, a crossword and creating sentences about the text. This would best suit grade 1 - 2 but can be relevant to younger or older children.
A fun way for kids to practise their plural rules. They are given the word's singular form and they are to 'go fishing' for its plural form.
Great tool for teaching handwriting on the interactive whiteboard
This is a great spelling resource. Once you have signed up you can create your own spelling lists. The site then generates games based on your lists which children can play independently.
This website teaches each letter of the alphabet and their sounds. There are also reading materials that help children to hear these sounds in a story.
Children select words that have similar meanings to a more commonly used word. The activity encourages children to think about using more interesting words in their own writing.
Scroll down to click on the links. The activities include completing simile sentences and discussing appropriate similes. There is also a battleships game where students are to locate the most suitable similes to complete the sentence.
This website provides different text types such as a letter, an email and a story. Each of these texts need to be punctuated with full stops and capital letters. There is also an option to listen to the texts being read.

This is a fantastic writing resource. Click on a text type and a window will open that explains the purpose and tips for that text type. A text organiser also appears in the centre that explains what should be included in each part of its structure. They also provide a number of examples.

This takes you to a website with four interactive whiteboard links related to minibeasts. The activities allow students to create an insect by considering their number of legs, where minibeasts can be found, the life cycle of a butterfly and classify creatures as either 'insect' or 'not an insect'
Students can put different bug body parts together to create a minibeast found in nature. If they do not put the body parts together correctly the website tells them that they have created thier own bug and gives it a funny name.
Students sort a range of items into different bins - recycle, glass or garbage. There is a beginner level (suits P - 2) and advanced level (year 3-6).
